About Us

RVillagers.org aims to create community engagement among Rose Villa residents by publicizing what’s new and exciting.

Our website, RVillagers.org, is funded by the Rose Villa Residents’ Association and entirely designed, developed, managed, and maintained by resident volunteers. It operates as a subcommittee of the Resident Council’s Communications Committee.

The site’s first iteration was developed over the summer of 2020 and launched in September. You are looking at the site’s second iteration, which launched in August 2024.

Our Design Goals

Content Variety

Uses a wide variety of easily digestible content emphasizing short videos, photos, interviews, testimonials, virtual tours, and prose to showcase new residents and promote participation in upcoming events, classes, and local opportunities.

Consistent Updates

RVillagers.org updates its content weekly with upcoming event promotions, new resident spotlights, and community news updates. Balancing the frequency of updates with content quality is crucial, as is balancing the workload using a core group of volunteers for content generation.

Accessibility

The website is accessible to all Rose Villa residents using accessible design practices, a responsive web theme, and simple navigation for mobile devices. User testing of the website with residents with different computer skills, devices, and accessibility requirements helps identify areas for improvement.

Feedback

The core developers of RVillagers.org use website analytics and resident feedback to tailor its content to resident interests. Speak to us directly or use the Contact Us page to provide feedback.

Connections

RVillagers.org complements Touchtown and RVChat by focusing on engaging media, timely content, and a resident focus. Touchtown will continue to serve as the comprehensive Rose Villa information resource with links to resident-authored content on RVillagers.org to create a more seamless user experience. RVChat, emphasizing peer-to-peer engagement and interactivity, will highlight new content on RVillagers.org and allow resident discussions regarding content shared across the three platforms.
