An Evening with Bill McKibben

The Green Team hosted a watch party on Friday, July 5, 2024, for Third Act Oregon’s live stream of a climate conversation with Bill McKibben.

Forty-one Rose Villians watched together in the PAC, and another dozen watched from their homes.

Joking that in some ways he’s a “professional bummer-outer of people,” McKibben spoke earnestly about the climate crisis while insisting there is still time to act.

In 2008 McKibben co-founded 350.org, which is now largely led by younger people. Two years ago, he started Third Act, an organization of climate activists his age to support the dynamic work of younger climate activists by providing the perspectives of age, organizing experience, and sheer numbers.
