Our collaborative SUSTAINABILITY campaign promoting reusable containers and mugs for water and hot/cold drinks from Madrona Cafe and Harvest Grill is making a difference.
See the Food Think Tank minutes from the September 5th meeting. Food & Beverage Director Norine stated there have been at least 900 purchases of BYOM drinks based on the number of cards punched in full to receive a free drink. That is 900 fewer plastic cups and throw-away paper cups going to the landfill!
This program is a success because of each and every resident and staff member who formed a new habit by remembering (sometimes the toughest part) to provide their own containers.
