Mary Fedoroff – Needle Felting

Mary Federoff with needle felting

Mary has enjoyed doing crafts of all kinds since she was a child. Over the years she has dabbled in ceramics, sewing, drawing, box-making, quilting and any number of other creative pursuits that looked interesting to her. She concentrated mainly on sewing, making her own clothes and articles of clothing as gifts as well. Mary has made coats, pants, dresses, shirts and once and only once, she sewed a two-man tent with a rain fly.

Mary always enjoys learning new things and most recently, when she found herself in bed with Covid last year, she taught herself the craft of needle felting. With a modest array of supplies (including a box of bandaids for stab wounds), she was able to fashion some small animals and found that she really enjoyed creating these novel items. Mary has stashed away a book about Kumihimo, the art of Japanese braid-making and may concentrate on that medium next.
