Pride was a little different experience in the summer of 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead of gathering on the second weekend in June for the Pride Festival and March, we ordered “Together in Pride” yard signs and proudly displayed them and our Pride flags for the month of June. On National Coming Out Day in October, we again unfurl our Pride flags and put out our yard signs to celebrate the diversity that makes up our LGBTQ community.

Vita and Cathy’s flag represents all folks of color and their struggle to gain equality in this country. This striving for equality originated from the StoneWall Riots, which led to years of gay political action. Lesbians were on the forefront of the radical action for equality by showing up on Pride Day, demanding equality.
