Priscilla Blake (Northeast)
Priscilla was introduced to kayaking by a friend when she was in graduate school. They kayaked on a beautiful section of the Deschutes River that runs along the edge of Sun River.
Priscilla has kayaked in British Columbia, Washington State, and numerous lakes and rivers in Oregon. She says Washington’s Salmon Creek was fun in the spring. Occasionally a passenger train would be passing over head on the train trestle and they’d wave to the passengers. Her favorite place to kayak was Hosmer Lake in central Oregon with its view of Mt. Bachelor, especially when the water lilies were in bloom.
The pictures below were taken on a quiet section of the Clackamas River near Estacada. She and her friends used to have the river pretty much to themselves, but the area is now part of a state park and is popular with paddle boarders.
