How to use RVChat

Thank you for your interest in using RVChat. Below are three PDF files that explain RVChat. Since they are PDF files, everyone should be able to open them. Just click on the link. You can print them out for reference if you wish, or return to this part of the website to view them again.

Part 1: The first file is an introduction to RVChat with information such as:

  • What is RVChat?
  • What do I use it for?
  • and a Getting Started section.

This introductory section covers sending an email to Cindy Brown or Susan Hyne to request membership, what the reply back will look like, and what to do when you receive it. We show you what your screen will probably look like.  These are activities which you need only do one time, such as setting up a password.

Part 2: The second file covers how you’d like to get messages from RVChat. You can choose to have emails sent to you, or you can look at the RVChat webpage to view emails.

Part 3: The third part deals with other RVChat features and is rather technical, so you may not want to look at it until you are quite familiar with using RVChat to send and receive messages to the group.  It covers advanced topics like creating a quick poll and doing a live chat with others in real time. (This is similar to the chat function in Zoom – no video, just typing, sort of like sending text messages.) It also mentions Calendars and Photos. There’s also a Files section. Again, these are  advanced features with which you, just starting out with RVChat, do not need to be concerned with – unless you like to explore.

These three files are also available as a single PDF.
