RoseVilla MelodicasPlus! is a group of Rose Villa residents who play Melodicas plus a wide array of other instruments. Current members are (left to right) Karen Hudson-Brown, Miranda Manners, Marilyn Gottschall, Byron Windhorst, Wes Brown, and Louise Williams (not pictured).
A Melodica is a small hand-held keyboard that is played by blowing into it, sounding similar to a harmonica or accordion. We are “Plus!” Because we also play a variety of other instruments including recorder, krummhorn, cello, autoharp, viola da gamba, guitar, ukulele, psaltery and percussion. And we sometimes sing, too! We provide music for various Rose Villa activities such as Tuesday Market, Remembrance Ceremonies, Independence Day, Madrona Grove, Art Openings, Halloween and Neighborhood Block Parties.
