In Between: A Memoir, by Kate Birdsall, is in the Biography section of the Rose Villa Library. This is Kate’s story of being born transgender in 1943, 20 years before the word existed. As Kate made her way through jobs, homes, and relationships, she and our culture slowly developed the vocabulary to express who she was. In Between was self-published in September of 2021. In addition to being in the Rose Villa library Kate’s book is available at Ledding Library and on Amazon in paperback and as an e-book — (tinyurl.com/kateb-inbetween).
Life on Two Wheels, by Kate Birdsall, can be found in the Biography section of the Rose Villa Library. Self-published in 2016, this book tells about Kate’s 30 years of cross-country motorcycling in words and pictures.
Travels With Kate 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 are shelved at 917.9. Self-published, these little books contain the stories Kate wrote while she and her wife, Andrea, were on road trips. The stories originally appeared on Kate’s blog, so it’s almost like you’re on their trips with them! In 2020, the entries are about her journey through the Covid-19 pandemic.
