Ovation is a restaurant in Milwaukie. We’ve been there a couple times and liked it.  Last night we took a visiting friend there and they were closed due to staffing problems.  I’m hoping they can get staffed up and don’t have to close altogether.  This has been a nice French-themed addition to our area and it’s very close.  During the week they are only serving breakfast and lunch but on Saturday and Sunday they have a full menu.  I’m hoping enough people will try them out so they can stay open.

Pam Duren adds:They are having difficult server problems.  We went last night for dinner and they had to close due to personnel problems.  Our experience prior to this has been very positive.

Sadly, our experience did not measure up to that of others.  The night we went there our burgers were overcooked despite our specific requests and, after food drop off, the waiter was never seen again until he presented the bill.  Guess I could have picked up my plate and walked it over to the cook to complain, but did not feel like it.  (Not MY job.)  The french fries were excellent, however.  Have had great outside brunches in the past. Will stick to brunch in the future.
