Restaurant Review: Nicholas Restaurant

by Betty Hosokawa

Ed and I had lunch at the Nicholas restaurant on Madison (there are also two other locations), and it was excellent! It serves Lebanese and Middle Eastern foods for both lunch and dinner. At all meals, as a free starter, they bring your table this huge, freshly baked thin pita bread, accompanied by a light dip. The menu is large and the servings are ample.  While Ed had a mango lasse to drink, I had a lovely lightly seasoned  cinnamon and mint iced tea.  We both had lamb wraps and shared an order of nicely seasoned hummus, a small salad and the creamy traditional rice pudding.  Everything was delicious, and the service was prompt, thoughtful and gracious.
And, the parking option is a lovely bonus.  There is a parking lot right next door and, if you park in one of the several spaces there reserved for the restaurant, parking is free. (Otherwise, parking there is $3.00 an hour.)  A ramp leads to the restaurant door and bathrooms are wheelchair accessible.
Enjoy!
