Restaurant Review: Stone Cliff Inn

by Mary Claire Phelan

The Stone Cliff Inn was fabulous.  It was nearly straight up a tight switchback drive across from the Clackamus River. It is a rustic log cabin type building with a patio overlooking the river.  Some wore shorts & t shirts while others were couples dressed for their proms.  A rock wall for climbing is a short way from the other side of the parking lot.  Each of the 3 different large dinner salads we chose were polished off. Teen granddaughter had the fettuccine Alfredo with pork belly strips & enjoyed all of it.  My chef special made allium free for me was the best meal I have had in a very long time.  The lightly breaded 2 sole fillets & the  asparagus spears were cooked perfectly.  The mashed potato substitute, purple  quinoa, was scrumptious.  I easily took almost half home. The desert molten chocolate Bundt cake was so good that my granddaughter apologized for not saving a bite for me.  The caramel bread pudding was light & very tasty.  The prices weren’t as high as at Salty’s.  Service was very leisurely.
