Restaurant 503

My family took me to
Restaurant 503
21900 Willamette Dr, Unit 201, West Linn, OR 97068
“New American” cuisine
It’s in the front north end of The Market of Choice shopping center, just off 205.
This was a favorite the few years we spent time in West Linn. Since Covid, menus & personnel have changed. It never was a place to get a fast meal, but our experience was very slow. The food was delicious though, and our server thanked us many times for our patience.
The big hits were:
A large Caesar salad, the roasted thin asparagus with a truffle cream sauce topped by chive bits, the complimentary  small sample of cream of mushroom with bleu cheese soup, small squares of rosemary-topped focaccia, roasted thigh quarter of chicken with beautiful green beans and mashed potatoes and a wine reduction sauce; and the Beef “Bourguignon” with diagonally sliced asparagus on top and spinach and mashed potato under.  We totally cleaned all of these from their dishes.
They specially made allium free Gnocchi for me with cherry & yellow tomatoes, mushroom chunks and chopped kale in a light mushroom sauce. Although the gnocchi were chewier than I prefer, they were amazingly flavorful.  I brought half of it home to savor the next day.
Prosciutto and truffle pizza with two sunny eggs atop wasn’t as impressive to my family. They  have a pizza oven along their garage. There was lots of truffle, not much prosciutto. They ate half & sure did take the other half home though.
There is a very respectable wine list. They have periodic wine tastings on Sunday afternoons. There’s more outdoor seating than indoor. Jazz and other small group concerts accompany dinners on some weekend evenings.  Prices are high.
