Treasure House Update: Back in Business!

The Treasure House had a few challenges last week due to an A/C compressor that lost its mind and decided to self destruct.  Thanks to Steve Waud in Maintenance for supplying a couple of space heaters, but we learned quickly that the heaters and the lights were an either/or situation.  Derek Felsinger to the rescue — he worked all day Saturday tearing out the old compressor and installing a new one.  He thought the store was closed on Saturday, so had to deal with questions and comments.  We appreciate his patience!  Everything is now in operation and we have both lights and heat.

There is something about the store being CLOSED that puts people in a frenzy to shop.  No lights?  Use an iPhone flashlight.  No heat?  Keep your coat, hat, and gloves on and your money ready.

Being closed for a couple of days gave us an opportunity to process all the recent donations and pack up merchandise for our Attic Treasures Sale on Thursday and Friday, January 13 and 14 in the Club Room.    This month features Kitchenware and Housewares, with some Levi jeans and wool scarves mixed in.

The platform bed frame I advertised last week sold!   The system of listing larger furniture on CHAT is working well.  The latest thing on the resident “wish list” is chairs suitable to a honey colored table, and a floor lamp.  I have a member of the public looking for a chest of drawers with a dark finish.    If you are the person looking for a meditation pillow, let me know.

The latest addition to our list of specialty items is………

LAGOON 1 – LEADING EDGE INFLATABLE KAYAK, INCLUDING
Duffle bag, repair kit, Sliding Seat, Owner’s Manual and super powerful
inflation system.     It is 8’ 4” long, 34 inches wide and weighs 23 pounds.
Oh – and paddles come with it!

I will have a large format description, with photos, etc., at the Attic Treasures sale this week.

NOTE:  If you want to know how much you owe on your Treasure House account, you can call any day from 1-4 PM – 503-652-4008 , then you can pay your bill at the Attic Treasures Sale.  Some accounts have built up over the winter.
