Neighborhood Walking Tours (Starts May 22, sign-up needed)

We live on a 22-acre campus and it takes a while to get to know the territory!

The Welcoming Committee is adding neighborhood walking tours to the options helping new residents get connected with neighbors and resources.

Neighborhood Walking Tours will be offered on the Saturday following the monthly Tuesday Connections orientation session for new residents (which follows the Forum on the third Tuesday of the month).

Our first neighborhood walking tour on Saturday, May 22nd at 11am will cover the Garden Grove neighborhood and the Garden Barbecue Area (home to the 2021 Tuesday Market).  Tours start at South Main.  There will be two small tour groups (each with 1 tour guide and 5 residents).  Our tour guides this month will be Joe Shacter and Helen Lyons.  Archivist Jean Coberly has supplied some interesting tidbits about our campus—did you know about the “green house”?

New residents have priority for tour spots; if there are open spots, registration will open for other residents at 5pm on May 21st (the night before the tour).  To sign up, go to the listing for May 22nd on the Touchtown activities icon.  Select Neighborhood Walking Tour and click on register.  Resident Services can also sign people up for the tours.
