The Rose Villa Vikings competed in the Rose Festival Dragon Boat races June 11 and 12. On Friday, June 10, the Vikings held a pep rally with the full Rex Putnam Drum line procession. Jan Wainscott and Martin Lee were honored as our Vykarians.
The Vikings raced two times on Saturday and had excellent race times, putting them in Division 2 for the Sunday races. They ran a great race Sunday morning, qualifying for the semifinals. In the semifinal, they came in 4th place. The Vikings showed great intensity, paddling technique and competitiveness the whole weekend. Our paddlers range in age from 30 to 86!
