Last night we ate at an amazing Chinese restaurant, one of the best we have ever encountered.  We had been looking for a good one and the last time Ed went to our dentist, Dr. Chun, at Comfort Care, he asked him for his suggestion.  Several of the staff  participated in this discussion and they all agreed on this restaurant:

hours: 11am-9pm, Monday-Sunday.  Eat in or take out

The name suggests a small place, but it actually is very large inside with tables spaced nicely apart, given Covid times.  Clean and lots of light.  We went fairly early on a Sat. evening and probably about 2/3rds of the patrons were Asian, including several multigenerational family groups, which we liked.  In additional to the main menu they also have extensive dim sum which we did not try.  I had oysters with black bean sauce, Ed had cashew chicken. We shared some egg flower soup and broccoli with garlic sauce.  Nothing was over cooked and all the sauces were very fresh, unlike some places where they have the standard two types that are the bases for all dishes. Servings were huge! We will being enjoying leftovers happily this week and will go back again sometime.  Not cheap, but given the quality and portion size, very reasonable.

While not in the immediate neighborhood, it is easy to get to:  McLoughlin Blvd. to 17th, to Holgate, to 82nd. Need to enter shopping center parking lot for entrance for the restaurant.

HK is great. We’ve eaten there dozens of times. Food is fresh, tasty and lots of variety. I called them recently about dim sum service (carts). They said dim sum was available from the menu but that the fun of picking and choosing from the wandering carts has not yet returned because of covid. 5 Stars.

A caveat:  don’t let the mall setting put you off (it’s tucked into a corner next to a Dollar Store) — this is a great restaurant.  Dim sum also well worth it!
